Anzhelika Lebedeva (b. 1995 in Tver, Russia) is a Russian-Italian artist who lives and works in Cellino Attansio, Italy. She received a Diploma in Environmental Design from the Moscow State Academic Art School (MAXY) in Moscow in 2016, before completing a BFA in Printmaking from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Firenze in Florence, Italy in 2020. Lebedeva’s work delves into the inner worlds of individuals by examining the objects and spaces they interact with and leave behind, aiming to uncover their mutual transformation in the pursuit of harmony.
Her art closely draws upon the theme of existentialism, exploring the boundaries between concepts such as the natural and the artificial, and the physical and the metaphysical. The symbiotic relationship between art and its environment lies at the core of Lebedeva’s artistic practice. She employs pastels as her medium, drawn to its unique capacity to harmonize with her artistic vision: bridging the gap between observer and artwork, seamlessly integrating the latter into its surrounding space.
