He Tian (b. 1995, Hebei) is a Chinese painter, who lives and works in Beijing. He graduated from the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) in 2019. His works explore the metaphysical aspects of grass and the forest, drawing upon on his own relationship with the world around him.
The dynamic nature of grass is a prominent feature of his work, reflecting on his development as an artist, in addition to observing a state of tranquility from the bustling world. He uses classical techniques of painting to endow natural objects with humanistic sentiments and allows him to portray realistically and from a unique perspective, emphasizing on emotion and personal awareness.
He has shown in exhibitions in China and internationally, including ‘Getting Ready for Tomorrow’ at Pata Gallery (Shanghai, 2022), ‘LandBlink’ at LandBlink (Shanghai, 2022), ‘The Land Before Me’ at Crossing Art (New York, 2022), and ‘Natural Order: In Between The Tangible Reality’ at Object Momento (Shanghai, 2021). His work has been shown at art fairs such as Art021 Shanghai (2021), Contemporary Art Shenzhen (2021) and JINGART (Beijing, 2020).
